Liljeholmens Stearinfabrik, located in Oskarshamn, in the southern part of Sweden, is the world's largest manufacturer of stearin candles and one of Sweden's oldest currently operating companies.
Liljeholmen's history is the story of how the candle came to Sweden in 1839 and how it developed from being an important source of light to creating an atmosphere for everyday life as well as for parties.
All our candles are cast in molds according to the same method as at the start in 1839 in a combination of manual craftsmanship and automated production. The production of candles of the highest quality requires experienced staff with great professional skills and carefully selected raw materials.
For several years now, Liljeholmens's wonderfully atmospheric, skillfully made Swedish quality candles in 100% stearin have naturally been Nordic Swan Ecolabelled!

SUPPLIER TO THE SWEDISH ROYAL COURT SINCE 1893
In 1893 - during the reign of King Oscar II - Liljeholmens was appointed Royal Court Supplier and has been ever since. The company has thus been appointed Royal Court Supplier to four kings in a row - Oscar II, Gustaf V, Gustaf VI Adolf, and Carl XVI Gustaf.
Royal Court Supplier is an honorary appointment awarded to companies as proof that the company's products or services are appreciated by a member of the Royal Family and within the palace administration.
Liljeholmens Stearinfabrik is one of around 130 royal suppliers. The title Royal Court Supplier is a very well-known mark of Swedish quality - the court suppliers' products are often world-leading and good examples of high-class Scandinavian design.
